NEWS

Dear ANPC participants,

I would like to thank all on-site as well as online attendees for participation at ANPC.

We were honored to present the excellent plenary and invited speakers from many nuclear physics applications, enthusiastic young scientists and students as well as presenting companies and sponsors. ANPC had the privilege to host two IBA – Europhysics Prize winners (Marco Durante – IBA Prize winner 2013 and Thomas Haberer – IBA Prize winner 2020) as well as the deputy of NPD EPS (Iva Bogdanovic Radovic).

ANPC was an exciting, fruitful, and inspiring event, full of scientific synergy, new ideas, and multidiscipline interconnections. ANPC offered 5 plenary talks, 26 invited talks, and 54 talks in parallel sessions. About 35 e-posters and on-site posters were presented within the two poster sessions. In total, ANPC hosted 124 participants from 21 countries – 66 on-site and 58 online.

Last but not least, ANPC Proceedings will be published in EPJ Web of conferences journal.

Upon many requests, we decided to extend the deadline for article upload to 27.10.2021

I appreciate the support, help, and advice during the conference preparation from Katharina Lorenz and Andre Vantomme and their willingness to be ANPC Proceedings editors.

I would like to thank all of you for helping us to make ANPC an exciting event, full of inspirative scientific ideas and fun.

Sincerely

Anna Mackova
ANPC Conference chair

The European Physical Society (EPS) introduces the new Applied Nuclear Physics (ANP) conference promoted by the EPS Nuclear Physics Division.

The ANP conference will provide an open forum for scientists and engineers working in the wide field of nuclear applications with particular emphasis on energy, health, space, environment, material science, preservation and cultural heritage. This is a unique opportunity for scientists from these different communities to exchange views and foster synergies to find new ways and horizons to the challenges in their field.

Moreover, the ANP conference will offer an overview of the current state-of-the-art to young researchers and students, via numerous lectures presented by the leading scientists in a broad range of nuclear physics applications.

We are pleased to announce that the Applied Nuclear Physics conference (ANP) will be held on September 12–17, 2020 in Prague (Faculty of Architecture, Czech Technical University), Czech Republic. We open conference with plenary talk given by Sylvie Leray (CEA, Saclay, France)  devoted to highlights in nuclear physics applications.

2020 IBA-Europhysics Prize for Applied Nuclear Science and Nuclear Methods in Medicine

The IBA-Europhysics Prize is sponsored by the company IBA Group. It was first offered in 2004 and thereafter every two-three year. Awarding ceremony of the IBA prize will be undertaken by representatives of Nuclear Physics Division EPS in the frame of ANP conference in Prague. One of the IBA prize winners Prof. Marco Durante will present plenary talk.

NPD EPS deputy will award Prof. Thomas Haberer – new laureate of IBA prize which than will give an invited talk.
